When working with horses and humans I believe it’s really important to take into account and acknowledge where they are and what their limitations, concerns, unsupportive stories/tendencies are because they are valid and at the same time maintain a high level or respect and hold the vision for what they are capable of and speak to that and train in service for that. That means sometimes working through resistance to find ease.
I believe that as a coach that is what our role is. It’s really important to not dumb things down or allow for stagnation by letting the barriers take precedence.
I find that my Life Coaching training, experience as a trainer of young horses for so many years with the vision of what they will need to be successful at the upper levels and as a Therapeutic Riding Instructor, has always kept my mindset on what one CAN do and I build on that systematically. I also think my experience with over 12+ years of living with what was a debilitating medical condition, and being trauma informed through training and life experience has been invaluable.
Getting to apply that knowledge and share it in service to others is an honour.
Functional, attuned horsemanship coupled with mindset coaching applies across the board regardless of ability.
I respect you enough to not facilitate/participate in you holding yourself back from greater safety, ease and enjoyment, I respect you enough to teach you correctly, precisely and systematically, tailored specifically to you, I respect you enough to see your potential and help you to grow into that!
My promise is the same for each horse as well.
